"205/365": Photo Critique

I liked the photo I found this week because I like the sun in the background, how it shines into the picture and how there are little beams of light in front of her head. I like the way her hair is in this moment, how you can tell she is whipping her head back. However, it could probably be cropped a little on the bottom and take out some of the dead space on the borders of the picture.

"Decisions": Photo Critique

When I saw this photo by Sam Gellman, I thought it was really cool. I like it because to get this picture he would've had to put a timer on his camera and put it inside the fridge and although this looks like an accidental photo, like he stumbled upon it and it magically turned out really cool, it probably took a lot of work and time. I like that he and the beer is in focus, and that the fridge looks cold. I don't actually know what I'd change about it; I like it how it is.

Bristol: Photo Critique

I found this photo on flickr.com by Diana Pappas and I decided I really like it because while there is so much dark in the picture, the colors, like her red jacket, her blond hair, and their faces, really stood out and drew your attention towards them. The background isn't in focus, but its not totally lost either. You can still tell what is going on, and you can still see where they are and what is going on. There is even a story being told by it. You can gather that they are at a train station, one of them is leaving, and maybe they don't want them to go. I don't actually have any real complaints about the photo, but the yellow line in the lower left corner is a bit distracting.

My First Blog Post

I am taking photojournalism as a fun class, a class to expand my horizons, and to try something I've never really thought to try before.

So far, the class has been fun. Getting out and taking photos on Wednesday was refreshing, although it felt awkward to be taking photos of complete strangers. I think though, if it hadn't been uncomfortable in that way like it was, it wouldn't have been as much fun.
